The Two Day Therapist Workshop provides a conceptual and clinical overview of the Sexual Crucible Approach: A paradigm-shift from dysfunction-based approaches, emphasizing sexual potential, personal maturation, and life span development. Don't mistake this for an "introductory", basic, or innocuous workshop. The Therapist Workshop covers:

Understanding the "people-growing machinery" of marriage.
What causes sexual boredom?
Self-validated and other-validated intimacy.
How to "construct the crucible" for couples and individuals.
Dealing with the politics of change in therapy.
The therapist's role in treatment: personal differentiation and capacity for intimacy.
Shifting treatment from anxiety reduction to intimacy, eroticism, and differentiation.

By attending this workshop you will be able to:

List intimacy-incongruent aspects of contemporary sex therapies and marital therapies, and note differences between dysfunction-based approaches and one focused on sexual potential.
Recognize other-validated and self-validated intimacy and understand their roles in creating and resolving relationship "gridlock."
Explain the Crucible Approach, and deconstruct it's intervention strategy from a live demonstration.
Explain how self-soothing (differentiation) determines people's capacity for intense intimacy, eroticism and sexual desire in emotionally committed relationships.
List key steps for using natural "sexual crucibles" of emotionally committed relationships to enhance differentiation.
